Rodolphe de Pins in Châteauneuf du Pape
Rodolphe de Pins has quickly emerged as one of the most talented new-comer vintner in Châteauneuf du Pape. We spent an afternoon walking with him in the beautiful vineyards he cultivates next to renowned Clos Pegau and Le Vieux Télégraphe. Last but not least, Rodolphe has just taken over the vineyard of sleeping beauty Clos Bimard.
"The old vines of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise work perfectly with the clay, limestone and quartz stones of Clos Bimard. Being close to the (Rhône) river makes for cooler temperatures. It suits perfecly the finesse and balance I am looking for. We are blessed to grow vines and make wine in both sides of the Rhône River. Lirac and Châteauneuf du Pape have their own character but also many things in common." Rodolphe de Pins

Sommelier 2000 :
« One of the most refined Chateauneufs!... reminds us of the Rayas style in the finesse of its texture, the pleasure of tasting and the aromatic intensity... This is a truly great bottle of Châteauneuf du Pape associating great refinement with magnificent persistence in the mouth. »

« Displays a sappy intensity through the finish, showing ample grip and energy. »
